North East Florida Consistently votes against public education

Janet Adkins lives in Fernandina Beach, Steven Wise in Jacksonville, John Thrasher lives in Clay but represents St. Johns and we could even add Bill Proctor from St. Augustine to the list.

What list? The we all live in North East Florida and we are all consistently opposed to public education list. No other region can boast such a group.

They haven’t met a piece of Charter school legislation they disliked and were all big supporters of senate bill 736, the worse piece of legislation that may have ever come out of Tallahassee. It is unfunded, usurps local control and if the economy every turns around, may very well kill the teaching profession in Florida.

What is it about Jacksonville and the surrounding counties that cause the region to vote against the interests of its children, its teachers and its public schools?

  1. Maybe it is the crappy, selfish lack of quality education coming out of Duval County?
