Pigs’ fly, Ron Littlepage criticizes school board.

Ron Littlepage has long been we have the right superintendent and the school board to lead us into the future so this is a shocker; he has been that way despite the fact he has been given plenty of reasons to criticize the board in the past.

In his latest editorial he wrote: Mousing around the news of the week ... click.

Message to the School Board: Don’t blow smoke in our faces and tell us it’s perfume.

In the minutes of the meeting where the board decided to ax Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals, that monumental decision wasn’t even noted.

Board members are arguing that the sparse minutes met the “spirit” of the state’s Sunshine Law. Baloney.

The minutes infuriate for another reason: One of the things discussed was the need to change the culture of the school district “to one that is transparent ...”

Hiding a major decision for about a week isn’t exactly transparent.
Here’s another question: The Times-Union reported that board member W.C. Gentry took the minutes.

Gentry has made it known that he’s not enamoured by the Sunshine Law.
Why wasn’t the board secretary taking the minutes? You know, someone who might have thought getting rid of Pratt-Dannals was worth mentioning.

It’s to bad Mr. Littlepage hasn’t been questioning the board for the last few years. If he would have maybe we wouldn’t be in the poor place we are. I mean poor in performance not in money because it has been revealed that while the district was pleading poverty, cutting programs and firing people, it was sitting on 164 million in cash, but that’s another story.
