Does Pratt-Dannals understand right from wrong?

When discussing the districts misuse of title one funds in a Times Union article superintendent Pratt-Dannals said Wednesday night the matter is an old issue and doesn’t know why Gundy is bringing it up now.

Pratt-Dannals said the district had disagreed with the state’s original findings and has been working with the state since the 2010-11 school year to resolve the matter.

The issue arose when principals in 17 Title 1 schools used this federal money to hire teachers to comply with the state’s class-size mandates. The state said those teachers needed to be paid from the district’s general operating fund, like other teachers.

Instead of supplementing efforts at these 17 schools, the federal money was used to supplant costs. The district has about 50 Title 1 schools.

He then said about the practice continuing: Principals were permitted to use the same funding practice this year, Pratt-Dannals said, because he wasn’t sure there was ultimately going to be a penalty for the practice.

That’s a might big if there. I don’t know which is worse; that he is risking our limited resources or that he knows the practice is wrong and has allowed it to continue.

Friends how does he still have his job? When is enough enough?
