What is the real reason the school boards advisors don’t like the sunshine law?

…Cathy Mincberg, president of the Center for Reform of School Systems, told the Duval County School Board that Florida’s open records laws would discourage qualified applicants from seeking the position that will be vacated by Ed Pratt-Dannals at the end of the year.

Some applicants working, as superintendents will be reluctant to apply because the moment they do it becomes public record, Mincberg said.

I can’t help but feel one of the reasons she is saying this is she wants to steer the Board to a Broad Academy graduate. You see the center gets funding from the broad Foundation and they run a superintendent academy that puts non-education types into urban school districts so they can enact their corporate brand of reform. They won't have to worry about their school boards finding out. Former Super Joey Wise was a Broad graduate and he helped run multiple districts into the ground.
