Florida Ed Commish Gerard Robinson propagates the Albert Shanker lie

Tonight at a forum quite inexplicably and not having much to do with the question he was answering commissioner Gerard Robinson said, and remember that former union head Albert Shanker said, I will start caring about students when they start paying our salaries. This is a talking point that anti-union/privatization lovers often go to. The only problem is Albert Shanker never said it.

Albert Shanker however is credited with developing the concept of charter schools something the anti-union people never mention. Sadly his wife recently wrote that he would be spinning in his grave if he could see how the concept has been perverted.

Shame on the commissioner for spreading falsehoods when we have real issues that need solving.
