Charter schools USA is a Delaware corporation.

Why does this matter? Well it has 58 schools and none of them are in Delaware.  You would think with 42 of them in Florida maybe they would be incorporated here but they are not. I can only assume it is for tax reasons, as Delaware offers a smaller rate or some incentive but to be truthful I am just guessing.

Regardless, that’s pretty strange if you ask me.

  1. Delaware has the most corporate-friendly laws in the country and that is why many businesses incorporate there. To incorporate in a state, all one needs is a registered agent where official & legal notices can be sent. Many attorney firms will provide this service for corporations who are really headquartered elsewhere. And that's your Civics lesson for today, readers. :)
