Parkland survivors being attacked by right wing media

I have to say after writing about education for over ten years I thought I had seen it all including the depths the right wold go to sell their agenda, sadly I was wrong.

Survivors of the Parkland massacre whose only sin as far i can tell was speaking out have been attacked by the right wing media in a conspiracy theory that has been pushed by Donald Trump Junior himself.

From the Business Insider:
  • Some on the far right are going after a survivor of last week's school shooting in Parkland, Florida, who has recently made multiple appearances on TV-news outlets.
  • The student, David Hogg, whose father is a retired FBI agent, has been critical of President Donald Trump and other politicians for their response to the shooting.
  • Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., liked a pair of tweets questioning the student's motive for speaking out about the shooting.

Some of President Donald Trump's most fervent supporters have started going after a survivor of last week's shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida, who has since made a series of appearances on TV-news outlets.
That student, David Hogg, has been featured on CNN and CBS following the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that left 17 people dead and more than a dozen others injured.
Hogg, a student journalist who says he interviewed classmates during the shooting, has since become one of the most prominent student voices, calling for stricter gun-control measures and characterizing the response of politicians — and specifically Trump — as "disgusting."
I had somebody on my Facebook page post a meme saying since he (a survivor) was on the news last summer in a different city it was proof that he was a 'crisis actor" hired to take advantage of tragedies, needless to say they aren't on my Facebook feed any more.
Sadly this is all to indicative of the right. they don't need facts or evidence, they scoff at data and are willing to exaggerate and lie to make their often self serving and harmful to the public points.
Can the right get any lower?
For shame.

  1. Much of this activity is originating from Russia. They sprang into hours after the tragedy. Half favors this kind of nonsense; half pushes gun control and other causes. Sadly, too many people have no filters and don't stop to ask if the meme/story makes sense. We have to do better, America.
