AG Sessions wants to stick a stake in the heart of the separation of church and state.

Let's not fool ourselves. When people like Sessions talk about religious liberty they are talking about christian religious liberty which all to often intrudes on the rights of others. They aren't fighting for all religions, they are fighting for the one that thinks LGBTQ people are less than human, women shouldn't have control of their bodies and all other religions should get to the back of the bus.

From CNN:

In a speech at the Department of Justice's Religious Liberty Summit in Washington, Sessions said the goal of the task force will be protecting religious groups from persecution.
"The task force will help the department fully implement our religious liberty guidance by ensuring that all Justice Department components are upholding that guidance in the cases they bring and defend, the arguments they make in court, the policies and regulations they adopt and how we conduct our operations," Sessions said. "That includes making sure that our employees know their duties to accommodate people of faith."
Sessions cited "a dangerous movement" aimed toward stripping away the First Amendment right to freedom of religion as a basis for forming the new task force.
"A dangerous movement, undetected by many, is now challenging and eroding our great tradition of religious freedom," Sessions said in his speech. "There can be no doubt. This is no little matter. It must be confronted and defeated."
    Undetected by many??? Hoo boy.
The religious right has confused them not being able to persecute others and do whatever they want with persecution.
Let me remind you what the pervasive influence of religion in Florida's voucher schools allows. the teaching of both junk science and history and teachers that don't have to have certifications or degrees all paid for by the tax payer. This is what religious liberty gets you in Florida gets you and what Sessions would bring to the rest of the country and mainstream public education.
