Do we really want Rick Scott’s “Bold Moves”

Governor Rick Scott in his inauguration address promised bold moves. My question is, do we really want bold moves? I remind you less than fifty percent of those that actually voted did so for Scott and a recent poll already had his favorability rating at 33%. I know we don’t want inaction but wouldn’t slow well thought out moves be better than rushing headlong into things. After all isn’t it a “bold move”, the F-cat anyone, one of the reasons Florida’s education system finds itself in the position it is. You know graduating a generation of kids who have become nothing but numbers on a spreadsheet, trapped in a one size fits all curriculum, able to pass the f-cat but ill prepare for anything else.

No Governor Scot, we don’t want bold moves, rolls of the dice or going with your gut. We want well thought out and reasoned moves. Moves that involved all stake holders in the forming of them.

Though considering the anti-public education sentiment being propagated by certain powers-that-be, being reasonable might actually be considered a “bold move”.
