Cut schools, libraries, aid to the disabled, old, sick and poor. Expidea says thank you

From the Associated Press

A Florida House panel has approved legislation that would resolve a tax dispute in favor of online hotel booking companies such as Expedia, Travelocity and Priceline.

The Economic Affairs Committee's largely party line 12-6 vote Thursday will send the bill to a floor vote in the Republican-controlled House.

It's opposed by hotels that don't get the tax break for their own online booking and counties that say they are losing millions.

The online companies get discounted rooms from hotels and then sell them to consumers at a higher rate. They've been paying taxes on the discounted price.
