The Duval County School Board looks to extends Vitti’s contract, the district having success is not a factor.

Vitti’s own words about the academic collapse from last year were, “I wanted to win the Super Bowl,” he said. “We didn’t make it to the playoffs.”

Why is it too much to ask that we make the playoffs before we extend his contract? He’s obviously not going anywhere despite Shine’s assertion that other districts are looking for superintendents. The board has to this December to decide if they want to renew him or not so why the rush?

Scott ”the more he talks quite frankly the more ridiculous he sounds” Shine said, that if Duval loses Vitti, a new superintendent would disrupt teachers’ and students’ efforts to prepare for Florida’s tougher exams.

Um how? What does Shine think the superintendent does? I bet more than half the kids couldn’t pick the super out of a line up and it may have a positive effect on teachers as morale is rock bottom.

Sheesh, it's time Shine, Fischer, who has already said he is leaving and sadly Grymes, who I personaly like, the three talking about extending Vitti's contract, stopped acting like children and carrying the water for Gary Chartrand and his friends and make sure what we have is working before saddling us with dead weight until 2019.

If it's December and things have improved lets re-up him, if they haven't well we can decide which way we go then.
