Representative Bill Proctor said, we will have to phase out the Bright Future Scholarships. He says we can’t afford them. Our state legislature however says it can afford to give charter schools fifty-five million, lower the corporate tax rate, give tax breaks to yacht and luxury box owners and to give the governor a 400 million dollar slush fund, along with numerous other tax breaks and loopholes that benefit only a few.
Florida doesn’t have a money problem it has a priority problem and education is not one of them at least to the republican legislature and governor we have sent to Tallahassee. It’s time we said enough and we demanded they get their priorities straight, which should start with our children and the future of Florida.
