Charter schools lobby to be able to perform worse than public schools

From the Orlando Sentinel:  Charter operators have suggested changes that would limit enrollment caps, shorten the list of reasons why districts could close charters, and eliminate a requirement that charters perform equally well or better than other schools in their district.

Oy vey, where do I start. Why the rush to replace our public schools with charter schools? Studies say despite huge advantages charters don't perform better than public schools and now they don't even want too.
