Duval County’s public school system is making significant strides in what matters, graduating students from high school. That’s what the editors of the Times Union and the district’s administration thinks. The steady increase of numbers seems to indicate we are succeeding at this.
I think the most important goal is to prepare children for what comes next whether that be college or the work force, something if you ask colleges or employers we are failing at and if it takes a little longer than four years I am okay with that too.
You know we really could have a graduation rate of 95%, just pass them all no matter what. We do that already with so many it makes me think just over seventy percent is embarrassing.
What do you think?
