Over a hundred teachers have received non-reappointment letters, few were on improvement plans and fewer were told why. We have no idea of knowing if they were teachers who were struggling or if they somehow just crossed their administration because most received satisfactory evaluations too.
How can we expect our teachers to do right, to be enthusiastic, to be committed when they can summarily be fired without a reason given?
We can’t mistreat our teachers and expect to be successful.
And some wonder why the district struggles.
