Chris Guerrieri asks, why does it take the board years to do anything

For years now I have been talking about poor teacher morale, too much being on their plates and a lack of discipline in our schools and just now (in an election year) they are beginning to address those concerns. I wondered why it took them so long but apparently that’s just how the board works.

According to the Times Union, Reading was an area where the board looked at the data and then acted. After watching reading scores in the district remain flat for several years, the board invested $5.5 million into its Read it Forward Jax initiative.

That’s right friends they looked at it for years.

What’s the morale of the story folks? Well if you see a problem bring it up now and maybe by 2016 they will get on it.
