I am just amazed that Mrs. Smith-Juarez so casually dismissed smaller class sizes. She both went and taught at the Bolles school and according to the web-site Find the best boarding school, the average class size is 15 and the student/teacher ratio is 11.2:1.
Then Mrs. Smith Juarez went to Vanderbilt University and they likewise tout smaller classes. According to US News and World Report, the student-faculty ratio at Vanderbilt University is 8:1, and the school has 61.7 percent of its classes with fewer than 20 students.
Mrs. Smith-Juarez made all her academic decisions with smaller more intimate classes in mind which makes me wonder why smaller classes were good for her but have no value for public school kids? That makes her a hypocrite.
