Rick Scott inadvertently shows the effects of poverty in education

Rick Scott likes list and he ranked all of Florida's sixty-seven school districts according to how they did on the FCAT and in doing so he revealed something that people in power tend to deny and that's poverty matters.

The top ranked School District, St. Johns County has lowest the lowest percentage of poor children in the state.

Florida's lowest ranked District, Madison County has one of the highest percentage of poor children (at 78%) in the state

Poverty is the number one quantifiable measurement when determining success in school, kids who live in poverty tend to do worse than kids that don’t. How are we as a society not getting this, or is it society doesn’t care?
