In a letter to the Times Union the superintendent writes: While we are optimistic about the governor’s proposed budget, which earmarks additional funding for education, it does not equal the loss of federal funds, leaving us with a $50 million budget shortfall.
He doesn’t mention that he and the board recently authorized the hiring of three additional members to the public relations staff for a cost between two and three hundred thousand dollars. If we are so broke how can we afford any new expences? How can we justify spending money that doesn’t go into the classroom?
If this is his spending priority especial since times are suposedly so tight then shouldn't we all question his other priorities too?
