GUIDE FOR GOOD GRADES! 15 Steps to Student Success! 1. SET YOUR GOALS TO GRADUATE! 2. BE FAMILIAR WITH YOUR TEXTBOOKS – Complete every reading assignment because your tests will be from information from your textbooks and class notes. 3. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO WHAT YOUR INSTRUCTOR IS SAYING: The first day of class the instructor will tell you important information that will help you. 4. FOCUS YOUR FRAME OF REFERENCE! Keep your entire frame of reference on the lesson from the teacher, their notes on the chalkboard, and the topic for that day. 5. TAKE NOTES DURING CLASS: Always make sure that your pencils are sharp, and you write down what your teachers say during your class. If you write small letters you can write more information faster. Writing the notes again at home helps you remember the important topics the best. 6. REVIEW ALL YOUR CLASS NOTES DURING THE 7 DAYS BEFORE EXAMS. 8. NEVER MISS A CLASS! Do your best to get to class everyday that you are healthy! 9. COMPLETE YOUR HOMEWORK TWICE BEFORE THE NEXT CLASS! 10. STUDY EACH SUBJECT IN 20 MINUTE INTERVALS! If you have homework in several classes, study each topic for 20 minute timeframe and then choose a new subject for the next 20 minutes. Your attention to details improves with a variety of information. 11. ANTICIPATE THE TEST QUESTIONS YOUR INSTRUCTOR IS MOST LIKELY TO ASK. Test questions will be chosen from items from the textbook and items from your notes. What questions is your instructor likely to ask? 12. ASK THE TEACHER QUESTIONS TO BETTER UNDERSTAND TOPICS. Be bold about asking questions if you need to know more about math, science, or facts covered in English or any course that you are taking. Getting your questions answered is an important way to help you make right decisions. 13. VISUALIZE GOOD GRADES! Can you visualize yourself in the graduation cap and gown, graduating from school? College? 14. BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF YOUR DREAMS! Imagine the best about your future! Pretend you are in the career that you want to be in. How does it feel? Be positive about your ambitions and dreams of you and your family. 15. HELP OTHER PEOPLE GET GOOD GRADES! You are free to copy this worksheet and share it with your friends.
