Before you read any further you should know I am a member of DTU and believe in unions.
I wonder where DTU has been the last few weeks. In case you missed it, the county has both rifted (let go) about a hundred teachers and contracted with an outside agency (Teach for America) to bring in about a hundred novice teachers. I know up is down right, where is the sense in that. It's even more mindboggling when you consider the district pays TFA a 24 hundred dollar finders fee.
For those of you that think the teachers union has all this juice and influences policy and creates procedures this would seem to indicate otherwise.
