First let me say that there are without a doubt great things going on at even our most struggling schools but they are happening in spite of the school board and superintendent not because of them. In fact I believe the board and super are holding our schools back.
With that being said, in Duval County it is much better to go to the worst school rather than just a bad school. The district at a press conference announced a multitude of resources that they are throwing into Jackson High school which was ranked 404 out of 404, the worst, in the state.
When is their press conference announcing the same programs at our other seven neighborhood high schools ranked in the bottom 25 in the state?

Duval County once again puts a band aid on a bullet wound and then throws a press conference to celebrate.
