Solutions that don’t break the bank, reinvent the wheel or marginalize our teachers are within our grasp. We could have rigorous classes, safe and disciplined schools and treat teachers like professionals, and we could do so tomorrow if we wanted.
I saw that this morning. My principal says that high school students wouldn't be on their phones if the teacher was more "engaging." She blames teachers for everything. It's obviously an addiction.
Many of my high school pottery students cannot complete assignments because they try to work in clay one handed while they try hiding their cell phones in the other hand.
