At the last School Board meeting, Casey Barnum and I, independent of each other, asked the board to join the growing movement against the FCAT. We both pointed out what a monstrosity it had become and the damage it was doing to our children and schools.
There is precedence here in Florida too as the Palm Beach and Port St. Lucie school boards have both passed resolutions about the FCAT and the states dependence on high stakes testing.
Our board is not the most courageous lot but now hopefully after the FCAT writes debacle they will finally stand up and do the right thing.
