What about those additional 15 thousand kids projected to fail the FCAT?

When Gerard Robinson and the education commission voted to raise FCAT cut scores they did so knowing a projected additional 15 thousand kids would fail, well now that they are handing our do-overs out to schools and districts like candy what about them?

Oh wait a minute I forget in Florida’s education equation kids don’t matter.

  1. The whole idea with FCAT is to NOT push kids on to the next grade when they can't do the work in the current grade level.

We already have a generation who didn't learn the basics of reading, writing & math. Do we want all succeeding generations in FL to continue that way b/c we don't want to hurt their self esteem by holding them back in a grade until they master it?
