Connie Hodges, the President of the United Way joins the graduation misinformation campaign.

She has plenty of company, what with the school board and the editors of the Times Union pushing the same lie. The need to “toot ones own horn” has replaced what is right for our children and it is sickening.

According to the federal Government, our graduation rate is 63% (54% for African American kids) and has gone up by about seven points over the last two years, just as the county doubled down on grade recovery. That and social promotions account for our boost not anything the United Way or the district is doing and it is shameful.

Friends we are in trouble and we need leaders to stand up and demand the district does things the right way, not people who write self-serving letters to the editor.
