Mr. Hazouri had the courage to say he didn’t think the KIPP Impact charter school should expand until they showed some success, a reasonable request I believe. However somewhere between that statement and the time to vote he lost his courage and voted with the board 7-0 to allow it to expand.
Fast forward and their FCAT results show they are lagging way behind the rest of the county; success sadly, nowhere to be found.
Maybe there will be success in the future. I hope so for their kids sake but regardless what they have done up to this point hasn't warranted expansion and the board and Hazouri if they truly cared about Jacksonville's childrne shouldn't have allowed it.
