Duval County’s strategic plan goes ignored

You remember the strategic plan don’t you? The long list of metrics the board created to say, see we are on top of things. Well imagine this, they aren’t as on top of it as they should have been.

In an article about the school board the Times Union wrote:

The Strategic Plan is a robust document with about 70 metrics that sets goals for the school system. It has been called the district’s “bible“ by Hazouri. The previous board asked Pratt-Dannals to give annual state of the schools addresses to communicate and update the plan, but he hasn’t given one since 2010 before the current board was assembled.

Um why do we have a strategic plan? Oh I know, when they created it they were able to disipate some of the heat they were getting for their poor perfomrance. Once that heat went away apparently the strategic plan hit the bottom drawer and we wonder why we are in trouble.
