Solutions that don’t break the bank, reinvent the wheel or marginalize our teachers are within our grasp. We could have rigorous classes, safe and disciplined schools and treat teachers like professionals, and we could do so tomorrow if we wanted.

The hellscape that education may become
President Obama and mayor Emanuel both send their children to private school, as does Paul Ryan. Mitt Romney’s children attended private school. These men now want to force children into a hellscape of continuous testing, devoid of the arts and electives where all children are forced into a one size fits all curriculum regardless of their aptitude or desires, taught by a revolving door of first and second year teachers. This is their vision for public school.

Why don't you check out how many state legislators have children who attend or did attend private schools. They too set the policies for education in our state. Not to mention the businessmen/women in our community who have opinions about public education but no experience with it because their children also attend private schools.
