The board used to be a stepping-stone on the way up or way down for people who were or wanted to be career politicians. Hazouri, Jordan, Gentry, Priestly-Jackson to name a few.
Now the board is a place where people go to retire. Barrett is seeking her fourth term and Burney her third. That’s right friends, there is no term limits on the board they can stay for a lifetime.
You know this might be okay if we were chugging along and the district was being successful. This might be okay if the board had a plan to improve things. This might be okay if the board didn’t make one bad call after another. However that’s not the case and this is not okay.
Friends take a moment and think; can our children really afford years 13-16 of Barrett and years 9-12 of Burney?
I don’t think so either.
