The Times Union only listens to business leaders when it comes to education.

Don’t worry Times Union this backwards thinking is quite prevalent in the halls of power around the country and state, you're not bad, you are as bad as everybody else.

Look at Rick Scott’s education transition team. Out of a dozen or so there was only one teacher on it and they taught at a private school.

Arne Duncan the secretary of education never taught a day in his life and Michelle Rhee the darling of the education reform movement only spent two so-so years in the classroom.

That brings us to the Times Union; two editorials asking about the superintendent where not one teacher was asked how they felt and an op-ed piece from a businessman define their recent coverage of Duval’s education woes. Since Phil Frentz left teachers rarely have been consulted or had their opinions asked and it is shameful.

If we want a truly successful education system, teachers are going to have to collaborated with not dictated to.

Have you ever thought that why we have all the problems with education is because teachers are never asked to participate in improving it? I have.
