In a letter to the editor Mrs. Burney wrote: The Duval County School Board is comprised of professionals who understand education and business principles.
Several Board members are trained in reform governance and our board has achieved Master Board status by the Florida School Board's Association.
Now I am not talking about the part where she said the board understands education issues, that is very debatable, but where she says the board achieved master board (no jokes please) status. Only four members of the board, Couch, Wright, Lee and Barrett completed the course, Gentry, Burney and Hazouri didn’t.
Now maybe this isn’t a big deal, maybe only four members is enough to achieve master board status or maybe it is yet another example of how Mrs. Burney and the board like to play fast and loose with the truth. They only like to give you part of the picture, that part that is self serving.
