On one hand she whines charter schools are public schools so they should get a share of the tax money public schools get from taxes for construction and maintenance.
Then on the other hand her recent charter school bill does not require that charter schools submit to the state the teacher evaluations implemented by the merit-pay law — as traditional public schools must. It exempts charters from complying with some new teacher-pay requirements and states that some provisions in the act “don’t apply to charter schools.”
Excuse my language but what the hell?
The truth is in Florida charter schools are not the mechanisms of teacher driven innovation that they were designed to be but publicly funded private schools owned by corporations that care about profits not children and Representative Adkins should be ashamed of herself.
Good job Fernandina Beach, way to elect a public education hating Representative you should be ashamed too.
