When Jeb Bush’s FCAT became king in Florida some of the first victims were skill and trades classes, replaced by intensive reading and math because in his brave new world everybody was going to go to college no matter what. Well friends he writes in the National Review on-line: Despite high unemployment, there are 3 million skilled jobs going unfilled because companies cannot find qualified applicants.
I find it ironic that Jeb Bush helped destroy the teaching of trades and skills and now complains that they are gone.
