the Tampa Times: Gov. Rick Scott on Wednesday named Orlando
businesswoman Marva Johnson to the state Board of Education. Johnson, 44, is a corporate vice president for Bright House
Networks LLC. Her term begins March 26 and ends Dec. 31, 2017.
“I am confident that Marva will be a committed servant to Florida
students," Scott said in a statement. "I look forward to working with
her and the entire Board of Education to further ensure that all Florida
students can get a great education so they can pursue their dreams.”
