The conundrum that the state of Florida has become
So one bill says military bases in school districts should
bypass local boards and go to the commissioner of education to develop charter
schools, who by the way rubber stamps charters that districts deny all the
time. Then another bill says the state should get out of choosing textbooks
because local boards know best. Then
yet another bill says when local districts can and cannot test and another
wants to allow guns in schools, which I am sure at least a few school boards
would have an issue with.
So boards are great for choosing textbooks but are total
clods when it comes to allowing guns, testing their kids and allowing charter
schools in.
What?!?
Once again if you want education to improve in Florida then
get Tallahassee out of it.
