The African American community gets worked over… again

This time it was by Florida’s shameful No Child Left Behind waiver: or we better do something before white schools are affected

No Child Left Behind’s increasing rigor was about to affect the states white suburban schools, where despite their success they couldn’t keep up with the ever increasing requirements. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said something like 90% of our schools would be considered failing if something wasn’t done.

Well Florida can’t have that can they, especially since NCLB has already done its job and decimated many of our inner-city and minority schools and opened the way up for privatization. Something the state of Florida has with almost perverted glee embraced.

That’s right friends NCLB was great for our black schools, you know the ones that have been closed, are in danger of being taken over or who have seen most of their kids leave and replaced by poor performing, privately owned for profit charter schools, but it’s too much for our white schools.

This is institutional racism at its worse.
