It should really come as no surprise that Steve Wise is looking shift more taxpayer money to charter schools. Like several other current GOP legislators Wise has accepted cash from the nations largest charter school operator, Charter Schools USA. Included in the list are Erik Fresen, Anitere Flores, John Thrasher, Will Weatherford, Don Gates, Mike Haridopolis and Ellen Bogdonoff. As a member of the senate Pre-K-12 committee, Bogdonoff has received the most. Charter Schools USA has also been a big supporter of the Florida Republican Party, contributing $81,75o between 2004 and 2010. Charter Schools USA made no contributions to the Florida Democrat Party.

Charter Schools USA CEO , Jonathan Hage was on Rick Scott’s education transition team and is recognized on Jeb Bush education foundation web site as a prominent reformer.
