First day testing problems, oh Florida, a round up of testing news.

I was going to write about how the first day testing woes were easily predictable but Miami Superintendent Albert Carvalho beat me to it.

Sadly, today's midday cancellation of state assessment due to state's technical issues was both predicted and preventable.

  1. Wait until April when 8 grades are trying to get on and test rather than 3. We ain't seen nothing yet.

  2. What in the world is the matter with the Times Union? Are they so far up the conservative you-know-what that they can't even see reality? This is news and should be thoroughly covered in the TU!

  3. The TU doesn't care to listen to people with actual experience. Unfortunately, this issue took up time that kids could be learning and teachers could be teaching. But no, we must test or else. The testing needs to stop; either trust teachers to do their jobs or fire us all.
