In a heartening turn of events, Superintendent Greene said on WOKV the district was changing its transition mask policy, from, only if you feel like it, too, masks must be worn. This is a small step, but at least it is a small step in the right direction.
From WOKV,
Greene told Jacksonville’s Morning News that they have decided to require face requirements on buses and in the hallways during transition periods, but if the Jacksonville mask mandate continues, they will require for everywhere inside the buildings.

Now if Greene can just stop saying, well the COVID doesn't seem to affect children as much that would be good. She does throw out a lot of caveats afterwards but it would probably be better if she stopped saying it.
Also, it may not be as true as she thinks.

The interview is about 14 minutes long, in it, she admits that some schools will probably close as the virus spreads while others remain open and she is still for students in the upper grades changing classes which I think will definitely lead towards schools closing. Everyone should take the time to listen to it.
There is a school board meeting on Tuesday and it is important that the district listens to its teachers and parents too. I would urge you to let them know how you feel, you may just change a mind or two.
