Texas is in better shape than us and closing school to in school education until November.

Texas is not in good shape, their deaths and cases are way up, and the truth is they are in terrible shape, I mean unless you compare them to Florida and then they are just fine, yet they are closing their schools to in-school learning until at least November. How is Texas getting it, that opening schools is not only reckless and dangerous but will make the pandemic even worse while Florida, which is in much worse shape not?

Let me give you some scale, 29 million people live in Texas, 21.5 million live in Florida.

Texas is 268,580 square miles, Florida is 65,755.

So Texas is four times bigger and has 25 percent more people, yet their cases and their deaths barely compare to Florida.

Texas has topped ten thousand new cases once, just once, Florida has done so 11 times. Texas has had 4033 deaths, while Florida has had 4981.

Metric after metric shows Florida doing not just worse but much worse than Texas, yet Texas is closing its schools to in-school learning, while Governor DeSantis and Richard Corcoran are cajoling and pushing Florida's schools to open.

From the Hill,

Texas officials on Friday announced that schools can continue online-only learning until November as the state sees climbing cases of the novel coronavirus.
AP reports that the changes were announced just hours before Texas set another daily record for COVID-19 deaths, 174, as well as more than 10,000 new cases of the virus as the state sees a growing outbreak.
Previously, state officials had given districts the option of remote learning for three weeks and then having in-person classes. Most schools will also require masks and social distancing when they reopen.

It is like DeSantis has a death wish, not for him, but for us.

The stupid, it burns.
